A Gretsch-Baldwin era guitar, with a combination of styles from Gibson and Fender. The BST 5000 is the top of the line featuring Neck-thru construction, with Factory Dimarzio Super Distortion Humbuckers, Chrome hardware, and a geared truss rod adjustment. Made from Walnut and maple. It features 2 volumes, 2 tones, 3-way pickup selector switch and factory coil taps. Overall condition is A+. One owner. The guitar has a few small indents in the gloss finish, very small pin head size indents. No dings or chips. There are no modifications. The frets are in good shape.
There were a few incarnations of these guitars, the BST-1000, 1500, 2000, and 5000. The BST 5000 is the most worthy of discussion. This beauty was your typical late 70s/early 80s maple and walnut neck through guitar. A very solid guitar with some high end features such as a nice german carve around the top. Loaded with Super Distortion pickups, magical pickups really, high output but excellent clarity and touch responsiveness, for a hum bucker. These guitars are an interesting combination of Gibson sounds and aesthetics with a bit more of a Fender feel to them.
